This is a small text file which is stored on your computer and other end devices. The cookie saves your selection from the menu on the left: “Prospective Students, Students, Employees, Visitors”.
The “permanent cookie” remains on your computer after your browser session has finished and makes it possible for us to recognize you on your next visit and directly offer you your desired starting view of the homepage. It is not permitted for other companies (including cooperation partners) to collect, process or use personal data via cookies.
You have the possibility of avoiding cookies being saved on your computer by means of changing the settings in your browser appropriately, whereby you would then always be directed to “Visitors” on the homepage and would have to manually change your view to “Prospective Students, Students or Employees”.
This website uses Piwik, an open-source analytics platform for the statistical evaluation of website usage. Piwik uses so-called “Cookies”, text files which are stored on the user’s computer and which make it possible to analyse the usage of a website. The information concerning the use of the website which is generated by the cookie is stored exclusively on the server of the website in Germany. The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before the information is moved into storage. Users can prevent the installation of the cookie being saved on their computers by appropriately changing the corresponding settings in their browser software. However, we would like to point out that if this is done, you may not be able to fully utilise all of the functions of the website.

6. SOCIAL NETWORKS
Our website uses connections (so-called plug-ins) to the Facebook presence of the West Coast University of Applied Sciences. Facebook is a social network of Facebook Ireland Limited (Hanover Reach, 5-7 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2 Ireland). The Facebook plug-ins can be recognised on our website by the use of the Facebook logo (a white “F” on a blue background) or by the "Like” button. Depending on the type of plug-in, additional information may be displayed (e.g. “Like” or “Share”). You can see an overview of the Facebook plug-ins here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/
For the integration of the “Like” button we work with a 2-click system: the respective plug-in is deactivated and is only activated if you give your consent for the activation of the respective plug-in after your first click.
If you do not want Facebook to link the visit to our website to your account, please do not click on the buttons secured by the 2-click system and also logout of your Facebook user account.
We would like to inform you about the processing of personal data via the function of the XING “Share” button.
The general data protection regulations that XING follows can be found under: https://www.xing.com/privacy.
Our website uses plug-ins from the service, Twitter. These buttons are offered by Twitter Inc. (795 Folsom Street, Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). They are recognisable by the term “Tweet” as well as by the stylised blue bird. By using Twitter and the “Re-Tweet” function, the sites you visit are linked to your Twitter account (if you are logged in at the time) and shared with other users. In doing so, data is also transferred to Twitter. We wish to point out that as a provider, we have no knowledge or influence on the content of the transmitted data or on its use by Twitter. Further information can be found in the data protection policy of Twitter under: http://twitter.com/privacy. You can change your privacy settings for Twitter in your account settings at: http://twitter.com/account/settings.
