6.1 Facebook
Our website uses connections (so-called plug-ins) to the Facebook presence of the West Coast University of Applied Sciences. Facebook is a social network of Facebook Ireland Limited (Hanover Reach, 5-7 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2 Ireland). The Facebook plug-ins can be recognised on our website by the use of the Facebook logo (a white “F” on a blue background) or by the "Like” button. Depending on the type of plug-in, additional information may be displayed (e.g. “Like” or “Share”). You can see an overview of the Facebook plug-ins here:

For the integration of the “Like” button we work with a 2-click system: the respective plug-in is deactivated and is only activated if you give your consent for the activation of the respective plug-in after your first click.

If you inform yourself on our website and click on the Facebook “Like” button, a direct connection to the Facebook server is created by the Facebook plug-in. This gives Facebook your IP address and informs them that you have visited our site. Facebook saves your IP address. This also occurs even if you are not a member of Facebook or not currently logged in. By clicking the Facebook “Like” button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our pages to your Facebook profile. Through the login, Facebook can assign your visit to our website to your Facebook user account. It is possible that Facebook also collects, stores and processes additional user data. However, we never know, at any time, which Facebook buttons you have used. Therefore, we wish to point out that as a provider, we neither receive any knowledge of the content of the transmitted data nor its use by Facebook. For your own peace of mind, you can find out more about what Facebook can do with your data in the Facebook Data Privacy Policy at:

If you do not want Facebook to link the visit to our website to your account, please do not click on the buttons secured by the 2-click system and also logout of your Facebook user account.

6.2 XING
We would like to inform you about the processing of personal data via the function of the XING “Share” button.

The XING “Share” button has been utilised on this website. When using this website, a temporary connection to the XING AG servers, which provides the functions of the XING “Share” button  (especially the calculation/display of the counter value), is made through your browser. XING saves no personally identifiable information about you concerning the use of this website. In particular, XING saves no IP addresses. There is also no evaluation of your usage behavior through the use of cookies in connection with the XING “Share” button. The current respective data protection information concerning the XING “Share” button and further information can be found on this webpage:

The general data protection regulations that XING follows can be found under:

In doing so, data is also transferred to Twitter. We wish to point out that as a provider, we have no knowledge or influence on the content of the transmitted data or on its use by Twitter. Further information can be found in the data protection policy of Twitter under: You can change your privacy settings for Twitter in your account settings at:
