The Institute for Controlling Regional Development Processes (IzSRE), based at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, where it was awarded the position of a scientific institution at the university in October 2003, is a research and consulting institute. It contributes to the university’s mission to support regional knowledge transfer. The aim is to systematically utilise the existing knowledge on hand for the further development of the region. The focus of the activities of the IzSRE is the support of small and medium-sized companies in structurally weak regions.
