Why study ITM at the Westcoast University of Applied Sciences?

A master’s degree offers the opportunity to specialize in a specific field/area. This increases your chances of standing out from the crowd of university graduates, write a doctoral thesis or work in academia.
In addition, many employers attach great importance to well-trained competencies that you can acquire during your bachelor´s degree and develop, expand and deepen during a master´s degree.
The master’s degree International Tourism Management develops the competence areas Tourism, Management and Methodology combined with an international dimension, thus preparing you for leadership positions in the international touristic job market (for example in tourist organizations, hotels, airlines, event management etc.).
Dedicated lecturers and a familiar atmosphere at the university allow you to study effectively in small groups. The modern equipment offers further advantages.
It is possible (but not mandatory) to spend one semester abroad at a foreign (partner) university and study there to even increase the international aspects of the study programme.
The application of the acquired knowledge is also very important in the master programme. The university has a large network of cooperations with external practice partners. Through the German Institute for Tourism Research (Deutsches Institut für Tourismusforschung), which is based here, exciting research projects are carried into teaching and worked on by the students.

The University of Applied Sciences is located in one of the top tourism destinations in Germany. Well-known destinations like Büsum, St. Peter-Ording, Sylt or Hamburg are not far away and offer the opportunity to work in the tourism sector during your studies.
