The Language Team at the FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences teaches four languages in all study programmes in both the Business and Technical Faculties. We are all native or near-native speakers with many years of experience, teach with enthusiasm and personally support our students.

Our aim is to prepare students for their future occupations through systematic language training, which is based on the level related structure of the Common European Framework (CEF). The individual courses can be seen as either a component or as a supplement to the respective professional studies and are complemented and expanded through extracurricular activities and events (e.g. external examinations). We also work with the Moodle learning platform to optimally accompany the lectures. In addition, we offer assistance in preparing for the semester or internship abroad.

In order to participate in the English and Spanish courses, students must take a mandatory placement test in advance. For English, this is done using the online placement test from the Oxford University Press. The login details for this test are given to the students when they receive their registration forms prior to commencing their studies. For Spanish, the test is given in the orientation week for International Tourism Management students and is only for participants with prior knowledge.
